A commission starts with a conversation. Send a sketch, a photograph, a stone you already own, or nothing more than an idea — it is enough to begin from.
The shape is modelled in three dimensions first, so the proportions can be settled before any silver is melted. You see the model and approve it before the work begins.
From there it is the same bench and the same four steps as every other jnqlv piece: cast, forged, filed and polished by one pair of hands, then struck with the hallmark.
Allow three to five weeks from the approved model. Every commission is one of one, and it is never repeated for anyone else.
